VOCAL COACHING
Nancy is an experienced vocal coach specializing in the art and technique of vocal placement, vocal styling and performance. Incorporating classical techniques to her training method, Nancy finds this approach supports all vocal soloists in all genres of music. Teaching how to apply the vocal technique of a classical discipline gives the student a solid foundation for building on and developing their own voice and singing style.Whether singing Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock, or Broadway, through vocal exercises, song study of teacher and student choice, singers will learn how to use their voice with correct placement and breath support, improving intonation, vocal range, diction, style, and vocal projection.
Students needing assistance in preparing for auditions will build their repertoire, learn how to control their voice, overcome performance jitters and sing with confidence making for a positive experience. High School students who have auditioned for "NJMEA All State and Regional Choirs" have successfully placed in Woman's Chorus and Mixed Chorus.
Instruction is offered in beginner piano and music theory for singers interested in learning the fundamentals of music. Students will improve sight-reading skills, expand their knowledge of music and its language, and further develop their ear based on keyboard harmony.
Under Nancy's direction students pursuing music as a career in areas such as, Music Therapy, Music Production, Music Education and Music Performance have been accepted to Berklee, Duquesne, Fredonia, Immaculata, Messiah, Westminster Choir College - Ryder University, Shenandoah, Temple, Mason Gross, and Ithaca College.
Having many hours under her belt in recording studios, Nancy is experienced in coaching other solo artists on their recording projects. She is a valuable asset on session dates, helping soloists produce lead vocals, as well as offering recording studio assistance in vocal arranging of harmonies and song production.
As Nancy continues performing all genres of music in the studio and on stage, students highly benefit from her diverse musical background. Under Nancy's guidance and direction singers will improve their voice, becoming confident and expressive singers. Nancy believes classical vocal technique is not limited to the classical or opera singer alone, but for every soloist who wants to establish a strong vocal foundation learning to sing with ease and perfection in all genres of music and performance.
Nancy has done amazing work with our daughter for the past 5-1/2 years. Angie has progressed to landing lead roles in HS musicals, successful opera and college auditions singing arias, and has been accepted to all the prestigious music schools to which she has applied.
